We are hiring: Campaign Manager

The potential candidate is responsible for campaign planning and execution in the area of ending fossil fuels addiction and building ground for accelerated renewable energy transition.

Location: Remote. Candidates must have full working rights in the country they are applying to work from. 

Remuneration: Depending on experience (including unpaid and other occasions) and capacity to take on responsibility. 

FTE Status: Full-time 

Start date: Ideally, as soon as possible

Line manager: Campaign Director

About Us: Razom We Stand was founded in April 2022 by Ukrainian climate and peace activists aimed at isolating and constricting Russia's fossil fuel industry to end the war in Ukraine and accelerate Europe's transition towards renewable energy. 

About you: This role requires an energetic, dedicated and detail-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks under supportive managerial guidance. This individual must be a team player with an entrepreneurial problem-solving spirit, willingness to learn and ability to adapt to shifting priorities with excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organise their work using tools.

building international pressure toward ending fossil fuels contracts between Russia and Western European countries and making the best use of campaigning moments. 

  • developing winning tactics and leveraging the power of coalitions and campaign supporters to achieve a fundamental shift in how Western European governments respond to war and conflicts run by fossil fuel money. 
  • developing winning tactics and organizing Ukrainian partners to deliver powerful strategies of rebuilding Ukraine on renewable energy
  • develop targeted written campaign content for social media, website, and email 

Key responsibilities:
I. Campaign Strategy and Mobilisation opportunities

  1. To work with organizational leadership and key campaign partners to lead the development and implementation of strategies that support the achievement of campaign goals.
  2. Develop subject matter expertise and political landscape expertise - engage in power mapping and research to learn what strategies will be most impactful. 
  3. To work independently or in collaboration with the team and international partners to support the development of country-specific campaigning, engagement and mobilization plans, in line with the overall organizational mission and strategy. 
  4. To develop, manage and implement a strategy for Green Recovery for Ukraine.
  5. Driving and supporting the wider movement’s work to cut off Russia’s revenues from fossil fuels and to drive momentum for a new clean energy plan. Provide colleagues across the movement with advice and support on strategy and tactics to run high-impact campaigns

- Manage international collaboration through networks and partnerships with the support of the primary Director and Campaigns director. 

- Host and prepare regular calls for partners, provide help in building bridges between Ukrainian and global partners and lead the organizing of joint events/campaign moments as sign-on letters, online/offline tactics and narrative. 

- To implement campaigns targeting Russian fossil fuel imports across the EU countries and main importers that are not in the EU (the US, Canada, the UK, China, South Korea, Japan etc).

- Contribute to the Razom We Stand strategy development to cease all investments into Russian fossil fuels and accelerate investments in the clean energy transition.

II. Сommunications and cooperation with decision-makers

  1. To create and/or commission content that delivers campaign objectives in close collaboration with Campaigns Director and Comms manager(s). 
  2. Represent Razom We Stand in international networks and alliances and organise for public support before key campaign events. 
  3. Manage partnerships with groups active on climate and energy policy in Ukraine and contribute to national-level advocacy in collaboration with the Team Lead on Renewable Energy Campaigns and Green Rebuilding of Ukraine.
  4. Identify and address priority movement needs for capacity building and/or training and draft training materials. 
  5. Communicate and collaborate with political and economic decision-makers. 

III. Other responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the broader development and execution of organizational strategy.
  2. To contribute to a high performing, collaborative, and flexible startup team environment, co-creating and fostering organizational culture and values.
  3. To support organizational leadership in strengthening organizational brand and public speaking, when appropriate. 
  4. Can perform other campaign related responsibilities assigned by line manager. 

This position will be managed by the Campaign Director.

Skills and qualifications

  • Campaigning:  at least 5 years of working experience in campaigning or communications.   
  • Experience building campaigns within a coalition (s) and networks
  • Community organizing or workplace organizing experience 
  • Issue expertise: 

- Experience at leading power analysis and power mapping 

- Knowledge / and or experience in the energy sector, especially renewable energy.

- Knowledge and/or experience in (inter)national politics and laws on energy issues. knowledge and/or experience in research and investigation

  • Strategic thinking & planning: ability to develop campaign strategies. assess and select the most relevant targets to achieve campaign objectives. willing to explore new ideas and campaign options. capable of developing and presenting detailed and realistic plans.
  • Communication & teamwork: excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to represent campaign on media; ability of public speaking and negotiation skills; analytical skills; commitment to, and demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Networking: build and manage relationships with other NGOs and provide leadership and direction to other organizations on energy issues when required.
  • Project management: able to design, implement and lead campaign projects
  • Budget management: able to prepare, present and comply with an operational budget. creative and resourcefulness enough to make impacts on limited budgets.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Language: Ukrainian - native; fluency in written and spoken English
  • Digital skills: Good working knowledge of software including Canva, Google Suite, Slack, Asana.
