Operations Lead

Razom We Stand, a Ukrainian-based non-profit organisation active internationally, was founded in April 2022 by Ukrainian climate and peace activists aimed at isolating and constricting Russia's fossil fuel industry to end the war in Ukraine and accelerate Europe's and Ukrainian transition towards renewable energy.

Location: Remote, with limited travel for team gatherings, etc. Candidates must have full working rights in the country they are applying to work from.

Remuneration: Depending on experience and capacity to take on responsibility, 35,000 - 45,000 euros yearly gross for the EU. For other regions, the salary will be adjusted accordingly. The contract is for one year with the possibility of an extension.

FTE Status: Full-time

Start date: Ideally, as soon as possible

Reports to: Director

About You: The ideal candidate should be an OKR professional and a great communicator who strives for operational excellence and is committed to building smooth processes and benefitting people, culture, and organisation key results.

The Operations Lead will be responsible for the organisation’s day-to-day administrative, financial, and HR operations and oversee performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, budget, finance, team management, and other vital work areas. They will maximise processes and procedures while meeting the organisation’s cost and time effectiveness expectations.

The Operations Lead will work closely with the Director.

Razom We Stand's mission is to aid the rapid transition from fossil fuels to clean energy for peace and justice, including rebuilding Ukraine. Our work also focuses on cutting off Russia's exports from fossil fuels and driving global momentum towards a clean energy future, surpassing the demand for fossil fuels.

We aim to eliminate fossil-fueled dictatorships, expedite political change, and catalyse investments in clean energy in Ukraine, the EU, and worldwide. We influence high-profile decision-makers to fast-track a climate-friendly and peaceful future for Ukraine and beyond its borders.

Key Responsibilities

People & Organisation

  • Lead in developing and forming procedures, policies, instructions and performance standards within the organisation
  • Manage and supervise the key managers, including task allocation, setting deadlines, and monitoring performance
  • Organise, motivate and support a team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions
  • Ensure the process of hiring, onboarding and adaptation of new team members
  • Organise a system of development and professional development of employees
  • Develop, maintain and implement systems and software related to People & Culture throughout an organization
  • Provide operational support and advice to the team, monitor and supervise organisational processes to ensure smooth operations and optimal outcomes

The Key Results for Program Operations

  • Collaborate with the​​ Board and Director to develop and implement the best growth strategies and processes for our administrative, finance and HR areas of development
  • Monitors the implementation and updating of the Organisation’s Key Results Plan (OKRs) in a high-quality, timely manner and under the highest standards
  • Develop and maintain financial systems to support the program activities throughout an organisation
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve the organisation’s key results
  • Manage budgets and forecasts, conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to the Director
  • Configure the monitoring, evaluation and reporting system for program activities
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to mitigate potential risks
  • Participates in fundraising activities
  • Or other operational responsibilities as assigned by the Director

Organisational excellence

Help to ensure remarkable performance in all aspects of an organisation, including its culture, leadership, strategy, people, processes, and results

Establish an internal framework of standards and procedures to engage and motivate employees to deliver high-impact campaigns that fulfil our OKRs and 3-year plans

Cooperate with partners that provide the organisation with accounting, personnel and legal services

Ensure adequate maintenance, protection, processing and archiving of information in the organisation

Cooperate with national and international partners of Razom We Stand in administrative and financial processes, including those needed to sustain a newly established EU-based legal entity in the Netherlands

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Good level of English proficiency. Knowledge of Ukrainian will be an advantage but optional
  • At least five years of experience in a similar or related role, including unpaid, grassroots, or lived experience
  • Financial management skills
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate teams, make decisions, and guide the organisation toward operational goals
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills for managing tasks, coordinating resources, and ensuring smooth operations
  • Problem-solving solid abilities to analyse complex situations, identify issues, and develop practical solutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication to convey information, collaborate with teams, and interact with stakeholders
  • The ability to think analytically for interpreting data, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to improve operational efficiency
  • Having a keen eye for detail to identify potential operational inefficiencies, mitigate risks, and maintain quality standards
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve operational goals
  • Knowledge of the climate or energy will be an advantage
