Razom We Stand, the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) and the international human rights organization Global Witness will hold a joint press briefing to discuss the effectiveness of the EU oil embargo and the price cap which took effect on 5 December 2022.

In assessing the impact of the EU ban on Russian seaborne oil that came into effect on 5 December 2022, the findings from the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air reveal that Russia’s earnings from fossil fuel exports have fallen significantly, largely due to the ban.

In light of the increasing urgency of disabling Russia from funding their war, the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) proposes a number of policy recommendations, which will be further discussed with participants of the event.

Presentation:
Results of data analysis and findings of the Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air  -  Lauri Myllyvirta, Lead Analyst, CREA

Discussion:
Oleg Ustenko, Chief Economic Advisor to President Zelensky
Mai Rosner, Global Witness
Olena Pavlenko, President of Dixi Group (TBC)
Oleg Savytskyi, Campaigns Manager of Razom We Stand
